Good, green, and giving

All of the good stuff

By Paulyne L. Fermin

My friend and I chanced upon an unobtrusive store called G-Stuff while walking in the mall. My caffeine lover companion made a beeline for the coffee section while beauty products made from various local ingredients caught my eye. I took my time examining lotions, massage oils, and shampoos. Aside from the cosmetic commodities, I found a whole range of items made from virgin coconut oil (VCO) and moringa (malunggay) and pili nuts.  A week later I was back in the same store talking with Maine Gatbonton, brand manager of the company.

Why G-Stuff? “G stands for good because all our products are meant to contribute to a healthy lifestyle. G is also for green, to represent the company’s role in the environmental and sustainability crusade. Lastly, it means giving to underline the importance of the social outcomes the enterprise holds in high regard,” says Maine.

  • Natural and effective Ingest, cook with, or apply to the body. VCO removes toxins and boosts your body’s immunity.

  • For the skin a lotion that’s good for you and the whole family

  • Miracle mouthwash the no fail cure for mouth sores, and sore throat

     Outstanding Oil

The star product of the store is VCO. Over the years, this oil has gained popularity for its many benefits, which include boosting the immune system, removing toxins from the body, and moisturizing the skin and hair. It is also used for cooking and baking. G-Stuff prides itself in carrying only premium VCO-based products, the main ingredient of which is harvested using the traditional cold pressed extraction method (without refining, deodorizing, or bleaching).  Premium VCO contains medium chain fatty acids similar to mother’s milk and lends similar benefits.

I purchased some of the products and let my family try it for a month. Here are our favorites:

Premium VCO–A tablespoon daily will improve overall health and give you restful sleep. Although stubborn me has yet to try drinking it, I’ve used it to massage my scalp and that of my children’s. What a difference! It removed product build-up and made our locks shiny. I also applied it on a lingering skin problem on my right elbow and now the itch in that patch has greatly subsided.

Oatmeal and Coffee Soap (85g for P65) – I love skincare products that smell like my favorite food and these two take top prize. The oatmeal bar left our skin soft and supple. My husband used it on his face and felt a good tightness after. We used the coffee soap to exfoliate and were quite happy with the result. It also did not melt in the dish and kept its shape.

Extremely Hydrating Lotion (50ml for P250) – This one really lived up to its name. A small amount effectively covers a big area and leaves it (yes) extremely moisturized.

Aromatherapy Massage Oil – While other oils had a sticky after feel, this product provided a smooth glide with no greasy ending. Most important, users benefit from its antifungal and antibacterial properties. The hibiscus scent was a tad too strong though, so I will try a different variant next time.

Last on the list is the Moringa Mouthwash Miracle. I swear by the effectivity of this herbal remedy. All it took was one gargle and my mouth sore was gone the next day!

There’s no going back for us as we commit to all the good this brand stands for. Here’s an invitation for you to also start going green!

G-Stuff is a social enterprise founded by Gina Lopez. By directing profits back to the small local businesses, the brand aims to eradicate poverty while protecting the environment. G- Stuff stores are located at the 3rd floor of Power Plant Mall and on the 2nd floor of Alabang Town Center.
