Fans of the “Star Wars Battleground: Rogue One” video game will have a new downloadable content (DLC) by December, reports say, coinciding with the release of the standalone movie “Rogue One.”
The “Rogue On: Scarif” expansion, the fourth and final DLC planned for the game, will take place on the recently-announced planet of Scarif, IGN reported. Scarif is described as a tropical and idyllic location that provided the backdrop in the trailers for the Rogue One movie.
The new expansion will enable control of characters Jyn Erso and Imperial Director Orson Krennic as playable characters for the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire, Yibada reported.
According to GameNGuide, the alleged new game mode for “Rogue One: Scarif” DLC features three panels: Spectators (with four slots), Rebel and Imperial (with six slots each).
Game developers Electronic Arts (EA) and subsidiary DICE also revealed they are working on a “Battlefront” sequel, expected to be launched in autumn 2017, with Motive Studios also taking part.
This month, EA also announced “Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition” featuring all of the game’s free DLC updates, season passes and expansions such as Outer Rim, Bespin, Death Star and the upcoming Scarif, Yibada reported.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” the standalone Star Wars movie set years after the events of Episode III, will hit cinemas in December.
