Jollibee has officially landed in Canada, and Filipinos in Winnipeg were quick to brave the subzero temperatures to satiate their craving for their fast-food favorites.
But in the land of poutine, do Canadians also have the same feeling? Three Winnipeg radio hosts gave three of Jollibee’s langhap-sarap fares the thumbs up.
In a 45-second video posted on The Ace Burpee Show’s Facebook page, hosts Ace Burpee, Chrissy Troy and LTI tried out a bucket of Chickenjoy, individual servings of Jolly Spaghetti and five pieces of Peach Mango Pie.
Troy praised the fried chicken as “crispy” and “really moist.” The gravy, she said, is so good that “it’s like a big, warm hug.”
LTI also showed a liking to the Filipinos’ sweet-style spaghetti, especially with the presence of hotdogs in the sauce “which I love.”
As with the peach mango pie (which is conspicuously bigger than the Philippine variant), Troy and Burpee unanimously liked it, with the female host describing it as “nice, warm peach mango pie on this chilly morning.”
The final verdict came from Troy: “This is so cool.”
Jollibee Winnipeg is located at 1406 Ellice Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
