Filipino cuisine will be among the food trends that will dominate 2017, Bloomberg predicts.
In an article titled “Eleven Fancy Food Trends You’ll Face in 2017,” the news company stated there would be an “explosion of Filipino food” by next year.
The popularity of Asian cuisine in the American food scene shows great potential for Filipino dishes to make it huge in the market.
Internationally renowned Filipino chefs have also helped in introducing the Filipino taste to the world.
In the busy streets of Manhattan, one can have a taste of Pinoy dishes such as lumpia egg rolls and pork belly with pork liver sauce in Mission Chinese Food resto, courtesy of their Pinay executive chef, Angela Dimayuga.
Meanwhile, the popular Filipino pork adobo has been making waves at the beaches of Miami through Fil-Am chef Dale Talde.
Talde has been serving one of the Philippines’ most famous dishes in his Talde Miami beach eatery. He will also soon be serving more Pinoy dishes dishes such as arroz caldo, a chicken, ginger, and fish-sauce rice porridge, in his new resto called Rice & Gold.
Besides Filipino food, Bloomberg also sees the emergence of high-tech cocktails in 2017, ‘fast-foodization’ of cereal and dominance of meat and artisanal butcher shops.
