The new Philippine tourism campaign has been launched, retaining the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” slogan.

Tourism undersecretary Kat De Castro shared the department’s latest promotional video on Thursday, January 26 through her social media pages.

The minute-long video, titled “Anak,” was shot at the Enchanted River in Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It also shows pristine beaches, crystal clear waters and sumptuous Filipino food.

In the video, model Jack Ellis is a foreign traveler who is offered food by a Filipina. She called the foreigner “anak;” when the curious traveler asked what anak means, he was treated to the Filipino brand of hospitality when given the answer “my child.”

De Castro, the tourism undersecretary, added that DOT is “very much proud” of their latest advertisement for the Philippines.

The video received positive reviews from netizens.

It will be part of a series of video campaigns to be shown in the country and abroad.

Tourism undersecretary Kat De Castro and his organization needs to wake up and make the country more accesible to tourists and look for new markets in China, India, etc. He needs to offer “VOA” visa on arrival facilities for citizens of more countries.

By acting dumb and deaf we loose a lot of tourists from the above countries who instead prefer to travel to other neighbouring countries
