The release of titles such as Horizon Zero Dawn, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) made 2017 an enormous year for video games. 2018 is shaping up to be even bigger with several high-profile games set for release in the coming months.

Whether you’re a console gamer or a PC fanatic, these seven upcoming games are sure to keep your hands busy and your wallets thin for the rest of 2018.

Sea of Thieves (PC and Xbox One)

This game was developed by Rare, the company that made the first-person shooter (FPS) GoldenEye for the Nintendo 64. A cooperative first-person action-adventure game that features cross-platform play between Windows PCs and Xbox One consoles, Sea of Thieves is all about letting you fulfill your pirate fantasies. Together with teammates, you can explore a vast open world on your pirate ship, collect loot, and engage in naval warfare with other players in the game.

Release date: March 20, 2018

Far Cry 5 (PS4, PC, and Xbox One)

The long-running FPS has taken players to various exotic locales around the world, but things are going to be different this time around. For Far Cry 5, the location will be closer to home. It’s set in Hope County, a fictional town in the US state of Montana.

In the game, you play the role of a sheriff’s deputy who must do battle with a radical named Joseph Seed and his violent, militaristic cult called Eden’s Gate. Seed and his group have taken over Hope County with deadly force, and it is your duty to stop them.

Release date: March 27, 2018

God of War (PS4)

The newest game in this beloved franchise is almost here, and hardcore fans couldn’t be happier about it. Described as a re-imagining of the entire series, God of War (aka God of War 2018) has now traded the Greek mythology aesthetic of the older games for Norse Mythology.

While Kratos remains as protagonist, the game will be introducing several new elements to go along with its Nordic inspirations—a major one being Kratos’s primary weapon. He no longer uses the iconic double-chained blades that were a staple of previous games. Instead, he now wields a magical axe called the Leviathan Axe.

Release date: April 20, 2018

Vampyr (PS4, PC, and Xbox One)

Developed by Dontnod Entertainment (the team behind Life is Strange), Vampyr is a bizarre action role playing game (RPG) in which you control Jonathan Reid, a doctor in London during the 1918 Spanish flu epidemic.

As a newly-turned vampire, you are torn between your hunger for blood and your duty to save the people of London. Player choice is a crucial aspect of Vampyr, and Dontnod has stated that you have the option to finish the game without killing anyone.

Release date: June 5, 2018

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4 and Xbox One)

With Red Dead Redemption 2, another esteemed franchise is making a comeback in 2018. Since the developers have reported very little about the game, details are limited at this time.

One of the few tidbits of information released is that the game’s protagonist is an outlaw named Arthur Morgan. He is a member of the gang headed by Dutch van der Linde, one of the main antagonists of Red Dead Redemption.

Release date: October 26, 2018

Marvel’s Spider-Man (PS4 exclusive)

One of the games people can’t wait to get their hands on this year is Marvel’s Spider-Man (or simply Spider-Man). And why not? Judging from all the previews that have been shown, the game looks nothing short of exhilarating to play.

Developed by Insomniac Games (creators of the Ratchet & Clankseries), Marvel’s Spider-Man is an open world action adventure where you can web-sling your way throughout New York. The game lets you play as the titular hero, his alter ego Peter Parker, and even his girlfriend Mary Jane (MJ) Watson! How cool is that?

Release date: Sometime in 2018

Days Gone (PS4 exclusive)

From everything that has been revealed about the game so far, it seems to be a zombie game like no other. You play as Deacon St. John, a biker and drifter who roams the game’s post-apocalyptic world. An open world action-adventure, it’s set years after a global pandemic that has killed most of humanity and turned them into zombie-like creatures called “Freakers”.

Release date: Sometime in 2018
