If you love wearing graphic prints, Marimekko is a closet must-have—so you’ll be thrilled to hear that Uniqlo is unveiling their collaboration with the beloved Finnish design house this summer! True to its mission of “bringing joy to people’s everyday lives,” the popular Japanese brand has partnered with Marimekko on a new special edition of LifeWear. The pieces marry Uniqlo’s casual street style with Marimekko’s bold and vibrant patterns. The collection includes graphic tees, swingy sleeveless tops, wide-leg cropped pants, and sleeveless shift dresses perfect for summer—and all year round! You’ll also find drawstring and tote bags, as well as canvas sneakers to complete your look. No sign of Marimekko’s iconic Unikko (poppy) print, but featured designs include: the Polle (“horse”) pattern, which is “based on an image of round hoof prints left by a plump small pony”; the Nonparelli (“hundreds and thousands”), colorful dots representing celebrations and cake decorations (imagine giant confetti!); and Kukkia rakkaalle (“flowers for the loved one”), which combines vivid colors with line drawings, typical of Marimekko prints.

Marimekko is a rarity on these shores, so I love that the collection gives us a chance to get our hands on their gorgeous prints, and at Uniqlo’s pocket-friendly prices, to boot!

Meanwhile, the UT (Uniqlo T-shirts) line introduces awesome collabs to showcase pop culture around the world. Check out Studio Sanderson for Uniqlo, featuring elegant Sanderson floral patterns and embroidery in fresh, vibrant colors. The SPRZ NY Eames T-shirt line celebrates the contributions of design icons Charles and Ray Eames to modern design, art, and culture with exciting new prints. Uniqlo also partnered with international artists like Addy Debil and our own Chan Cane for cool graphic and statement tees to express your individuality.

Uniqlo’s spring/summer 2018 collection also features new Airism innerwear that wicks away sweat (just in time for the summer heat!), Uniqlo U classic essentials in vibrant hues (love the 3D crew-neck balloon dress with its flattering fit-and-flare silhouette), new shades for the men’s Color Skinny Jeans, the women’s Smart Ankle Pants for everyday sophistication, and the men’s Super Non-Iron Long Sleeve Shirt for all-day wear (trust Uniqlo to make life easier!).

The Uniqlo x Marimekko collection is available in stores on April 2. For more info, go to uniqlo.com/ph, like uniqlo.ph on Facebook, follow @uniqloph on Twitter and @uniqlophofficial on Instagram
