In response to the increasing global problem of indoor air pollution, Dyson just recently revealed the new Dyson Pure Cool purifying fan.
Held in The Glasshouse, Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a place where technology complements nature, Dyson showcased their expertise in airflow, filtration and electronics and tackled the issue of indoor air pollution head on purifying every corner of the home.
“Indoor air pollution is truly a global problem and it affects everyone around the world. We all have our daily lives that introduce pollutants into the home and also pollutants coming in from the external which is why Dyson Pure Cool is prefect for Southeast Asia. That combination of a fan function, especially when it’s hotter, is to complement your air conditioning to circulate the airflow around your home while purifying the air is a unique combination that is very suitable for the Southeast Asian market,“said Dyson Category Intelligence Engineer – Advanced – Mark Heard.
There are countless contaminants in the air inside our houses that our eyes can’t see. It is truly disheartening to know that pollutants such as urban pollution, particulate matter and pollen can easily enter our homes. Pollution gets even worse when these are combined with indoor pollution sources like cleaning products, pet dander and disintegrated faeces, scented candles, indoor paints and cooking fumes.
The Dyson Pure Cool is more than just another fan. It purifies the air by capturing gases and 99.95% of ultrafine particles as small as 0.1 microns. From its humble beginnings — bladeless air multiplier technology in 2009 to last year’s release of the Dyson Pure Cool Air Purifier — the new released Pure Cool fans are filled with top-notch upgrades.
The Dyson Pure Cool purifying fan now features a unique diffused airflow mode. Along with the airflow mode, which cools you as a fan with purified air, there is now a diffused airflow or purification-only mode. This is utilized when you just simply want to purify the air but don’t want cool air blowing on you. This is perfect as the summer season is about to end.
One can easily switch in between diffused mode and fan mode. This is made possible by the valve mechanism driven by a brushless stepper motor inside the annular loop. On diffused mode, less energy is used and less noise is generated.
In addition, the Dyson Pure Cool purifying fan is the only purifier with Air Multiplier technology and 3500 degree oscillation, allowing it to project clean air to every corner of the room. By expanding the degree of oscillation to 3500 degrees and using Air Multiplier technology, the machine can project 290 litres of purified air per second to every corner of the room.
Other features include Sleep Timer, Night-time mode — where settings turn quieter and the display dims, and connectivity using the Dyson Link app 4.1 — which has been designed for iOS and Android. A new LCD display shows which particles and gases the Dyson Pure Cool is automatically sensing in real time.
Dyson has continued to pioneer purifying fans globally, leading new test methods in China, the world’s largest market for air purifiers. In January 2018, China’s Household Appliance Standard and Technology Industry Alliance released the first accreditation for intelligent air purifying fans – featuring test methods first developed on Dyson’s UK Technology Campus. Dyson is the first company to test its machines according to this new standard.
Dyson Pure Cool comes in Desktop purifying fan (DP04), and Tower purifying fan (TP04). Available inWhite/Silver and Black/Nickel, the new machines come with full Over the Air Update Capability where owners can continue to get the most advanced Dyson software even after purchasing the machine.
