To raise the bar of the country’s photography and video industry, as well as to foster closer camaraderie among photographers and videographers (hobbyists, amateurs, and professionals alike), the Wedding and Portrait Photographers of the Philippines (WPPP) will once again hold its annual event dubbed “Photo and Video Congress 2018.” With the theme “Beyond the Limits in Digital Imaging,” the event will take place at the Activity Center, TriNoma Mall in Quezon City from on September 29 to October 1.

    Ace Malaysian lensman, Timmy Khong, will be joined by local top-notch photographers to share their expertise during their scheduled talks to inspire and update participants on the latest wedding photography and video trends.

    Now on its 14th year, the event is free and open to the public where visitors will get to see the creativity and artistry of WPPP members as they showcase their artworks and masterpieces in the photo exhibit. Top camera brands and other suppliers will also offer big discounts on products and services during the three-day event.

    “This annual event is a one-stop shop for all wedding photographers and videographers, professionals and enthusiasts alike, as they will not only keep updated on the latest products and services in wedding photography and videography, but also keep them informed on the creative development and innovations in the industry,” shares

    Robert Lester Aliscad, WPPP president. “It is also our objective to provide participants not only with knowledge about the wedding business but also with other aspects concerning the industry. We are also grateful for the continued support of our various industry sponsors, as we are persistently working together for the betterment of wedding photography and video industry in the country.”

    WPPP is an organization of professional photographers whose purpose is to promote and foster the goals and programs of wedding photographers. It also acts as one body toward the shaping of photography of the future by sharing the wealth of knowledge of each member, improving the industry’s image and to network each resource for the benefit of the members. Continued growth has given its members the opportunity to upgrade their skills and knowledge and to build good and lasting relationships with some of the most competent and prominent personalities in the country, companies, organizations and other individual clientele.

    The organization was founded on March 31, 2001 with the gathering of the following wedding photographers: Emil Buencamino, Jorge Maniquis, Ariel Javelosa, Lito Genilo, Danny Ignacio, Lito Perez, Eric Nepomuceno, Jerry Valbuena, Jun Valbuena, and Joray Katigbak.

    WPPP was formally and legally incorporated and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 15, 2001. Since then, new members were officially welcomed to the group. To date, there are active members participating in all activities and projects of the organization. Members come from Metro Manila, Baguio, Boracay, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, La Union, Pangasinan, Rizal, Tarlac, Albay, Ilocos Sur, Camarines Norte, Palawan, Misamis Oriental, Quezon Province, and other parts of the country.
