Sherwin Sapatua, a bank employee from Noveleta, Cavite sent in the black-and-white street photo titled “Keep Calm.” He shares: “Nagsimula po ako sa photograpiya noong 2011 pero natigil noong 2013 dahil nasira ang aking camera at 2013 din ako nakagraduate ng pag aaral. Simula noong nagkatrabaho ako ay hindi na nakapag-picture. Ngayong 2018 po ay nagkaroon ng maayos na cellphone at muli akong bumalik sa mundo ng photograpiya, gamit ang aking cp ay nakukuhaan ko ng litrato ang mga bagay na tingin ay ‘kakaiba.’”
From Arellano Galdo III is the photo, “Rise and Shine.” His description reads: “Lucky to capture this beautiful sunrise during my last day of my summer vacation in Brgy. Cabacungan, Northern Samar.”
Denn Ambagan shares an untitled portrait of two women. He writes: “I really love shooting portraits and will continue to pursue my passion in photography. And in addition to that, my wife also is my personal hair and makeup artist. We always go together to events. The photo titled “Bloom” comes from Jeremy Christian Higuit. “This particular photo reminds me of a quote from Stephen Hawking, ‘Look up at the stars, not down at your feet,’” writes Jeremy. “Whatever problems or challenges you are facing right now, don’t forget to look up.”
Mark Jayson Cruz submitted the photo. “Pamarawan Island.” “Masaya, nakakalungkot, nakakaantig ng damdamin ang bawat kwento nila, ang mga ngiti at saya ng mga bata sa t’wing sila ay kakausapin ko,” shares Mark. “Sobrang kakaibang karanasan, kakaibang aral sa bawat isa sa amin. Payak na pamumuhay ang meron sila pero makikita kung paano sila nagsusumikap para sa kanilang pamilya.”
From Rad King is the black-andwhite portrait, “Lumad.” His description reads: “Appreciate the simplicity of pure Dabawenyo, as they take part and are recognized in Araw ng Dabaw 2018. Lumads are indigenous people, symbolizing the origin of Dabawenyo.”
Raphael Evan Grabador shares “Street Food,” his winning photo in the Camera Club of the Philippines for street food theme. “Breathtaking Bani,” a window’s view of the municipal building of Bani, Pangasinan is by Romel Dulay.
Juanchito Paner contributed the photo, “Bulubod,” taken in Bgy. Mambog, Binangonan, Rizal. Bulubod refers to the “bugkos ng punla bago itanim.”
And Japol Oroña sent in the photo, “The Hardworking Guy,” with the comment. “There is no substitute for hard work.”
