Megaworld takes its lifestyle township development up north

By Dom Galeon

if you’ve been to Iloilo city recently, you have probably visited or passed through its sprawling new business park—with a newly put up lifestyle mall, a contemporary arts museum, an international convention center, and two business hotels. It’s undeniable that Iloilo city is on the rise to becoming a hub of business and leisure in the south. Now, the same real estate developer that has transformed the old Mandurriao airport in Iloilo—Megaworld Corporation—is set to bring its live-work-play township development mantra into the north with Capital Town Pampanga.

Located in the old Pasudeco Compound in San Fernando, Capital Town is a 35.6-hectare property in the north that follows Megaworld’s successful township projects in Eastwood City, Newport City, Uptown Bonifacio, and the Iloilo Business Park, among others. It will add to the real estate developer’s already impressive resume of over 660 residential towers, more than 50 office buildings, 3,500 hotel rooms, and 17 full-scale lifestyle malls all over the country.

With Capital Town, Megaworld will rise in the north. Imagine the same world-class vision and lifestyle to finally be in Pampanga.

“For 29 years and counting, Megaworld has been living up to its expertise of transforming lands into sustainable township communities, and all in the most conducive locations,” says Megaworld Makati and Pampanga’s first vice-president for Sales and Marketing, Eugene Em Lozano. “Now, with Capital Town, Megaworld will rise in the north. Imagine the same world-class vision and lifestyle to finally be in Pampanga.”

To keep the live-work-play concept alive, Capital Town will soon be home to a six-hectare Shophouse District in the middle of the soon-to-rise business establishments that will dot the property. This are, according to Eugene, will be styled in neoclassical and Art Deco architecture. And just as Iloilo has the ILOMOCA or the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art, Capital Town will also be home to a museum, an events trade hall and an outdoor amphitheater that will showcase the fine and innate artistry and craftsmanship of the Kapampangans. At Capital Town’s central square will be the Casa Emperador.

All of this starts with an elegant but modest residential building, which is already in construction. Dubbed as the Chelsea Parkplace, this 12-story condo is inspired by the iconic neighborhood of Chelsea, New York, complete with that brownstones look from Manhattan’s upper West Side.

“We’re launching Chelsea Parkplace as the flagship condominium project to pioneer the integrated township experience in the north,” Eugene adds. “Its ideal location in the middle of the township will give future residents the front row seat advantage of seeing the growth and development in the area. It will rise as the perfect vantage point, with all units having balconies that provide a beautiful view of the township.”

Capitol Town Pampanga is a 10-year development project, but Eugene says that they expect most of this lifestyle hub in the north to be finished in the first five years. | (+639) 17 144 8696 |
