Spanning 135,000 square meters, this 1.7 billion SGD retail hub connecting Changi’s Terminals 1 to 3, is set to open on April 17.
Manila Bulletin Lifestyle gets a sneak peek:
1. Early Check-in Counter
Catching red-eye? The early check-in services at Jewel accepts as early as 24 hours before your flight. It services 26 airlines including SIA, Scoot Japan Airlines, and Qantas.
2. The HSBC Rain Vortex
Plunging down 5 floors, starting at a height of 40 meters, HSBC Rain Vortex is the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and was created by the same team behind Las Vegas’ Bellagio. At night, there is a light and sound extravaganza starts at 8:30 pm and ends at 12:30 am, at hourly intervals.
3. Link Bridge
This steel and glass bridge connects Jewel to Terminals 2 and 3, an eight-minute walk away. The bridge is bedecked with orchids, Singapore’s national flower.
4. The Jewel gift shop
Say goodbye to bringing home boring pasalubongs. Changi has commissioned local artisans to create special items to allow guests to bring home the “Changi experience.” The signature Changi scent, diffused throughout the terminals, is one of the special items you can buy.
5. Pokemon Center
Pokemon fans will go crazy at the first ever Pokemon Center outside of Japan. Look at the sales team anticipating the line.
6. Shiseido Forest Valley
The Shiseido Forest Valley is a verdant four-storey landscape, which houses one of the largest indoor collection of plants in SG. Jewel houses more than 2,000 trees and palms and over 100,000 shrubs, and come from all over the world like Australia, China, Malaysia, Spain, Thailand, and the USA.
7. New restaurants
30 percent of the outlets are restaurants, and new to SG restaurants like SHAKE SHACK and LOBSTER and BURGER will be opening here soon.
