Giordano wants to build a world without strangers with timeless basics

For 30 years, Giordano, an international retail brand, gifted us with classic and durable pieces, not only defying style changes, but also a piece’s longevity.

Upon arriving in 1989, Giordano has been one of the go-to brands of the era which helped in shaping ‘90s fashion.

Now, with 90 stores operating in the country, Giordano Philippines plays with nostalgia as they bring rows of new designs that play on nostalgic recollections of youthful heydays.

Held at One Canvas in Makati City, the brand celebrated its three-decade milestone by launching three collections. all grounded with classic style and good quality, traits that are at the core of the fashion brand.

“The creative process for the show starts with the mindset that Giordano is a heritage brand,” says Reza Aznar, concepts and campaign manager of Re-Set Design Studio and Giordano Philippines. “We want to present it today in a way that will be appreciated by spans of generations because Giordano is for everyone.”

A WALK IN THE PARK

It’s the ultimate throwback as the event space was filled with Instagramable stations reminiscent of one’s childhood day in the park. Think of the movie Pleasantville which presents a perfect view of an idyllic community. From colorful verandas, bean bags, and mats on the grass to check-covered picnic tables and ice cream stands, the setup mimicked a fun family day in the park.

Models walked the road donning pieces like crewnecks, khakis, subtle prints, and the brand staple, the button-up polo with pointed collar in block stripes with the signature crests—Napoleon polo, frog, and lion—embroidered at the top right chest.

TAKE ME TO THE BEACH

Giordano features a collection that focuses on the fabric of the season, linens. There were pieces in pastels of pink, blue, yellow, and green, with the new addition of seersucker, florals, and wide-brimmed hats.

This line is one of the ultimate must-haves this season, with its light and breathable fabrication and delicate details easy enough to mix and match.

LONG-MILE RUN

Giordano also presented their athleisure collection. The brand gave it a modern twist by pairing their classic polos with pieces such as paper bag shorts, hoodies, tracksuits, and vinyl open hats in shades of gray, lilac, and monochrome—a leap from the usual primary colors.

The athletic wear is adorned with delicate statements like “Just Smile” and “I am enough” that gives a strong sense of self-love, good vibes, and individuality.

ALL ROADS MEET

Giordano also believes in inclusivity in different platforms and to build a world without strangers through clothing. Models of different sizes, age, and skin color stomped down the runways, proving there is always something classic for everyone in Giordano.
