Primehomes team visits the house of cancer kids to learn more about their sense of purpose behind office walls

We all have our own pursuits. The most beautiful ones, however, are those driven for a cause, such as when people learn they have what it takes to help transform lives and translate hopefulness into something tangible and touching. A cause close to the hearts of the team behind Primehomes Real Estate Development, Inc. is giving love and hope to brave kids in their battle against cancer.

The team set out to Childhaus community in Ermita, a temporary care shelter for cancer patients from the provinces while they are undergoing treatment, and organized a funfilled party replete with games, per for mances, balloon exhibitions, and food. To raise funds for it, the team first mounted an exclusive screening for Avengers: Endgame in their community, taking advantage of the blockbuster to engage people to help even without shelling out huge amounts of cash, while enjoying a movie, too.

The party was filled with impromptu performances from Childhaus kids and parents. Two of them even belted out some powerhouse OPM songs. The kids were then entertained with a quirky balloon-twisting number and everyone got a hold of balloons shaped in their favorite figures such as a lion, a dog, or even a bike! Served for lunch were lechon, fish fillet, and the kids’ favorite barbecue, among others.

The event was brimming with positivity, energy, and infectious smiles but what the Primehomes team really found rewarding was the big, beaming smile on every parent’s face. Adelina Ramirez Juco, a mother to Raven, an eight-year- old fighter of Acute Lymphatic Leukemia, could only utter six words that could sum up her gratitude and emotions: “Sobrang natuwa, sumaya, nawala ang stress (we were greatly delighted, we were happy, it relieved us of our stress).”

The Primehomes’ marketing and sales team division did this for a purpose—they think the best way to break the monotony of their day-to-day office work was to reach out. “We want something more for the spirit of our people because they have to find purpose in what they’re doing,” said Jom Mojica, marketing head at Primehomes, who also happened to be the event’s host. It’s not because they are not having enough fun in the office but it’s because they believe this would pave a way for the growth and enrichment of everyone involved and also to combat the stress that comes with the challenges of the day to day in the office. “As soon as we got out of the four corners [of Childhaus], we found a new meaning to life. How lucky we are!”

The outreach program was perfectly aligned with the workforce’s core values such as team work. It was evident that everyone was willing to participate in the activities. Some of them did live performances and the company’s sales head, the boss, Niña Chua, even prepared some home-cooked meals for the event.

A short-term initiative can yield the most heartwarming results—a day with smiles and a stronger appreciation of life—but Primehomes’ efforts and compassion extend beyond the temporary.

The company has always been known in the real estate industry as an “advocate for green architecture and responsible design.”

It remains to be a purveyor of eco-friendly yet multi-functional urban development that caters to everyone who dares envision a lot of opportunities for the community, the Earth, and its people.

For now, they want to focus on long-term sustainable urban community building through more green projects, such as tree-planting. “We just finished with the blessing of one of our [Larossa] towers. We are planning a sponsorship event for different organizations and different sectors also but we always try to get back to the roots of being green. We are looking at a certain goal that is timely. Do we want this? Do we still want this 50 years down the line? Our mindset is that everything can last, but not the environment—unless we really take care of it.”
