“My name is Aquaria and I am a superstar!”
And yes she is. The season 10 winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race is the new face of The SM Store for its shoes, bags, and accessories lines.
It is truly the age of Aquaria as the queen is making “herstory” for the latest campaign of the retail monolith.
In a video released by The SM Store, Aquaria was seen dancing, vogueing, and sashaying in different SM merch from leopard-printed heels and gleaming fanny packs to knee-high boots, sassy glasses, and accessories she selected for the shoot.
Inspired by drag and ballroom culture, just like in docu-films and TV series such as Paris is Burning and Pose, The SM Store presented looks that played on the category: “SM Fashion Realness meets overly accessorized Fashion Queen.”
Apart from being an ultra glamazon in the hit drag reality show, the 23-year-old has a long affinity with fashion. She attened Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and was also part of Viva Glam, the 25th anniversary campaign of Mac Cosmetics. And this year, Aquaria broke another record: the first drag queen to walk the red carpet of the MET Gala wearing Maison Margiela by John Galliano.
