This year’s Tresemmé Runway Ready show was inspired by the season’s flirtation with bold colors. The venue could not have been more appropriate, the Philippine International Convention Center, a brutalist landmark known for its iconic modernist, geometric design.
The American haircare brand worked with fashion stylists and creative directors Daryl Chang and Pam Quiñones to curate looks representing two new collections under the Tresemmé Pro Color Series, Blonde Brilliance and Color Radiance.
The work of a fashion stylist is to craft a look that comes out more than the sum of its parts. Thus, it was just apt to work with two of the country’s top style forces for a show that comes across as a mosaic revealing the true nature of fashion. The creative processes of Chang and Quiñones also paint a picture of how collaborations are created, curated, and styled together to complete looks from hair to toe.
Also, this event marked a fashion show directorial debut for Javi Martinez of Yaparazzi Events. In the middle of the show, spectators could catch a glimpse of the set behind the scenes, where the show’s unsung heroes were literally brought center stage as they busily engaged in last-minute hairstyling.
For Chang’s Blonde Brilliance, hair expert Suyen Salazar and celebrity hairstylist Mark Familara created the perfect effortlessly chic, messy style to complement an all-black fashion armada with jolts of bright colors. The collection featured local brands including hats from Pinas Sadya, bags from Aranáz, shoes from Primadonna, and clothes from Deliver Deliver Daily, Sandy Cheeks, and Praco.
The curation and styling came together for a young, vibrant, and athletic collection fit for the modern Insta-girl. To round up the show, a favorite Insta-girl and Tresemmé brand ambassador, Laureen Uy, strutted down the runway showing off blonde hair shades that popped.
The fresh look of blonde and platinum locks are catching on with their powerful and bold statements, even achieving a more chic appearance with lighter shades. Tresemmé Blond Brilliance is infused with Purple Shampoo Formula to help preserve those blonde shades for a long-lasting bleached look.
For Pam Quiñones’ Color Radiance, hair experts Lourd Ramos and Victor Ortega styled the models with slick, wet hair to highlight red and brunette undertones. Local designers featured included Carl Jan Cruz, Sassa Jimenez, Rajo Laurel, Martin Bautista, Charina Sarte, and Neric Beltran.
The newest Tresemmé brand ambassador, Janine Gutierrez, closed the collection as she sported auburn locks in a wavy peekaboo hairstyle fit for a femme fatale. The hairstyle and the entire collection exuded a rebellious and provocative energy, as if there were something wonderfully mysterious to uncover.
For those looking to stand out with deep and darker tones, Tresemmé Color Radiance is infused with Color Radiance Booster to prevent color fading by locking in color vibrancy with each use.
