A blank mall hallway transforms into a mini music fest with neon-lit, festival tents. Attendees get to chat, eat, hangout, and chill against the sound of live music, while kiosks host fun games and activities in exchange for beauty products.
Such is the fun at the Rustan’s Beauty Addict Glow Beauty and Beats Festival at Rustan’s Makati.
Though already the seventh edition of the gathering, this festival is a first-of-its-kind, bringing together beauty gurus, skinfluencers, and makeup aficionados to enjoy two much-loved things—beauty and music.
“It’s just two of the best things that a girl can have,” Rustan’s Beauty Source marketing and communications manager Jackie Avecilla tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle in an interview. “Everyone loves these regardless of age, but it’s especially relatable for Millennials.”
Participating luxury beauty brands offering items such as makeup, skin care, and fragrance include Chanel, Estee Lauder, Clarins, Bulgari, Jo Malone, La Mer, Kanebo, Laura Mercier, MAC Cosmetics, among many others.
This experience comes with live music performances by Nicole Asensio, The Ransom Collective, and DJ Nix Damn P, too, in a Coachella-inspired setup in the Grand Mall.
Apart from the live music and a wide array of beauty brands to check out, the festival has also set up pocket photo spaces within Rustan’s Beauty Source. Attendees can dive in a colorful ball pit on one side, pose at a swing pocket photo area right by the entrance, and glow like no other at a sparkly photo wall near the Grand Mall.
It’s just two of the best things that a girl can have.
Food booths also serve rose’ slushies, milk tea ice cream, gelato, and drinks from Engkanto Bar.
The best part of this year’s Beauty Addict? Discounts of up to 50 percent and buy-one-get-one promos are up for grabs, which, as many beauty junkies might already know, rarely happens with luxury brands.
“This is the time when we actually go all out,” Avecilla says.
By playing games such as beauty-themed spin the wheel, tic-tac-toe, pinball, and more, participants can get freebies, samples, and even full-size products.
“We always want to uphold that Rustan’s is the premier destination for luxury beauty,” she says. “By us doing [Beauty Addict] yearly, it’s our way of telling everybody that we are the go-to place for that.”
On what beauty lovers can expect from Rustan’s Beauty Source in the future, Avecilla says there’s more to come. “We have two to three newcomers in this fourth quarter of the year,” she says. “Just like what we do at Rustan’s, we’re planning to groom and grow these brands.”
