A: Hi, Shay! The first thing to consider when putting together a home office is the size of your space as this will impact the design scheme, budget, as well as the size and fit of the furniture or fixtures.

A good work desk should fit and function within the confines of your space. Invest in a stylish and functional arm chair with good support and ergonomics. Consider multiple sources of light, whether artificial or natural as a well-lit work space is key.

Storage is also an important consideration. Consider floating shelves or a mobile desk storage to save space and keep clutter under control. Accessorize with decorative baskets, bins, and other visually interesting accessories to motivate and inspire you.

Place a pot of greenery—a house plant will make your home office a happy and inviting space!
