It looks like parents will no longer have to worry about seeing children’s songs in their own Spotify accounts. A separate Spotify Kids app has recently been launched, and it’s specifically tailored for your little one’s interests!
On a press release, the famous online music platform revealed that its new addition aims to provide a safe space for kids older than three years old to explore their music and podcast preferences. With everything in the app pre-selected by a team of editors who have experience working in respected children’s networks, parents are assured that every content uploaded is kid-friendly.
Prior to the app’s launch, more than two years were spent gathering helpful insights from several organizations like the National Children’s Museum in Washington, D.C. and conducting studies with parents worldwide.
Apart from the child-friendly content, the app’s overall look is also designed to get the attention of little kids with its fun, playful, and bright template that varies per age group. To add, young users also get to select a custom avatar as well as a color theme for a more personal touch.
Through its initial roll-out phase in Ireland, the team hopes to gain insights from parents, caregivers, and experts on how the app’s features can be improved. Over time, a more enhanced parental control features will be added so parents can customize them. “We’ll also bring our audio expertise to the table with listening experiences that go beyond music—like more stories and audiobooks and eventually podcasts.”
Exclusive for Premium family subscribers, the Spotify Kids app is currently only available in Ireland but will soon be rolled out to the public through the App Store or Google Play. For more information, visit spotify.com/ie/kids.
