One man dreamed that his suitcases will travel the world, be in different places carrying aspects of home for its traveler.
For 67 years, Bric’s has been fulfilling that mission with its array of dependable travel companions fit for every kind of traveler, threading luxury and functionality in its products.
Founded by Mario Briccola in the region of Como Lake in Italy, Bric’s envisions of being the leader in the luggage and travel bag industry worldwide and in the Philippines with the opening of its store at Shangri-la Plaza in Mandaluyong City.
“People today travel a lot more than before,” CEO of Bric’s Attilio Briccola tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “Some people travel 200 days in a year. They put inside their luggage some parts of them. They need something warm, something that will remind them of home.”
With its motto “Made in Bric’s” the brand has become an ambassador of Italian style in the world, mixing heritage, innovation, and technology in crafting every piece of luggage. Bric’s products can be characterized for its unique incorporation of vegetable-tanned, Italian Tuscan bovine leather. “We’ve been doing it for more than two decades,” says Briccola. “It’s a different way of adding color to the leather. It costs much and may take a while to be done, but it is the finish, the durability, and the quality that makes the leather a good material for luggage.”
Among its many collections are the Bellagio and the Venizia collection. Available in blue, black, olive green, and its bestseller cream, a hue reminiscent of coffee foam, the Bellagio merges smart design and cosmopolitan style in one bag. It contains PC and iPad pockets, a TSA lock, and Japanese wheels for better glide. Its retro allure is enhanced by leather details and trimmings. The Venizia collection is an ode to atmospheres of light, soft transparency, and delicate reflections, typical of the Venetian lagoon. With the use of thermo-formed shells creates a sleek design that comes in pearl, sapphire, and ruby. It has water repellent features and its inside lining creates an elegant and refined dimension because of its herringbone pattern.
A true Italian touch that many Filipinos can relate to is its familial core. “Bric’s was founded by my father,” says Briccola. “It is a business with a backbone grounded on family. In the family, we are eight brothers and sisters, six of us are leading the company.” Bric’s values people who work with commitment and dedication and a working space that’s just like home. As pointed out by its founder, “A happy working environment is essential for a company that has great growth ambition.”
Eager to See the World
“What’s important is for people to see luggage not just something to use, but something that represents them,” says Briccola. “I think traveling enables one to discover many things. It is important to understand that you don’t know everything to see things with a sense of wonder. So every time you visit a place, you can discover something new. The Philippines is great. It has a lot of young travelers who are eager to see the world.”
More than six decades of being founded, Bric’s stays true to the dream of its founder by distributing quality travel bags worldwide and spreading its family’s love and passion to travelers in different parts of the globe.
