Living up to its image as “confidently beautiful with a heart,” the Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) pageant organization aims to showcase the beauty of the Filipina from all corners of the country. The local pageant may have put a halt on its activities leading to the coronation night, but there’s no stopping them from spreading good deeds during this time of crisis.
The MUP is sending food packages to stranded students at the University of the Philippines Diliman and patients in need at the National Children’s Hospital (NCH). The food drive is spearheaded by the pageant’s national director Shamcey Supsup-Lee through Pedro and Coi’s Byaheng Busog project. The food drive aims to deliver packed food to NCH every day this week.

Miss Universe Philippines will start donating food on Monday to families at the National Children’s Hospital. National Director Shamcey Supsup-Lee is spearheading this drive through Pedro and Coi’s Byaheng Busog project. Due to the lockdown, they have limited access to food. For those who wish to help, please check their website byahengbusog.com.ph on how to do so. Free delivery for a minimum order of 50 food packs! You can also donate food packaging materials and ingredients. For donations you can contact 8936-1963 and look for Ira.
“[The food business has been] greatly affected by the closure of all stores. But despite this setback, we have learned that through adversity, we can still rise back up and fulfill our ultimate goal: to provide good meals to everyone,” Shamcey says in a post. “We have formulated affordable meals freshly made every day, ready to be delivered anywhere in Metro Manila.”

Byaheng Busog by Pedro 'N Coi Inc. is one with the nation, given these trying times as we pray for the health, safety and well-being of everyone. As a food business, we have been greatly affected by the closures of all stores but despite this setback, we have learned that through adversity, we can still rise back up and fullfill our ultimate goal: to provide pinoy home cooked meals to everyone. We have formulated affordable meals freshly prepared everyday, ready to be delivered anywhere in metro manila. We would like to thank all who donated and took part in providing food for our healthcare workers, police officers, employees that are part of the skeletal force and people displaced from their homes. And shoutout also to our dedicated staff headed by our executive chef for their efforts and sacrifices so we could provide food for those who needed it. @byahengbusog #byahengbusog
