The local canned goods brand is a household name, but is keeping fresh and keeping up with the times. Ligo (Ligo Sardines in particular) has been trending on social media because the people behind the brand reallocated the entire advertising budget for the year and donated the amount to organizations at the forefront of the Covid-19 relief and response efforts. They also plunged into the Internet and made a splash by schooling netizens with witty promotional slash public service announcements on social distancing, on their partnership with Angkas to ensure faster distribution of Personal protective equipment or PPEs, and even fun facts that are saucy with shade. People found three more reasons to love Ligo, the owners, the Tung brothers—Mikko, Mark, and Macky.
